mortadella, asiago + fig purée toastie
This came about because the ingredients were what I had in the fridge at the time. I can think of plenty of substitutes for the asiago - gruyère, emmental, caerphilly, for example. And any sticky, sweet chutney or pickle could replace the fig purée. I wish to fuck delis would peel back the skin of the mortadella before slicing because it's immensely annoying to have to pick it off with your fingernails once it's sliced.
1-2 slices of mortadella, depending on size
a few thin slices of onion
a few slices of assiago
1 dsp of fig purée (or whatever rich, jammy relish you've got)
2 slices of sourdough bread.
The same method as the spianata toastie.
