fig, blueberry + apple compote

I'm pretty slapdash when it comes to making a compote, using whatever is at hand. Although I like the vivid hue figs and blueberries give. Asda sell packs of four figs for a reasonable cost. I guess the others do too.

serves two
4 figs
100g blueberries
1 apple, chopped
a splash of orange juice
an inch of cinnamon stick
2 cloves
honey to taste

Put all the ingredients in a pan except the honey and bring to a simmer. After a minute or so, stir in honey to taste. Allow to bubble away until it thickens. Cool and remove the cinnamon and cloves.
