french toast + maple syrup

serves one
1 egg, whisked together with a splash of milk
salt
1 thick slice of bread
butter or oil
maple syrup
optional:
3 rashers of streaky bacon, grilled
or:
sliced bananas and blueberries

Whisk the egg, milk and salt together in a wide, shallow bowl. Soak the bread, turning a few times. Fry in a little butter or oil until golden on both sides. Now you can get all American diner on its ass and serve with bacon, or choose the more effete option of fresh fruit. Either way, drizzle with maple syrup.
